On a spare screen
Rain on a spare screen is a steady wash you do not have to babysit. This page starts that layer at 70 and leaves the rest off, so the first Play is only water. Put the iPad on a stand beside the laptop, or move the window to a second monitor, and leave the keyboard for the work. In Safari, Share, then Add to Home Screen, so the browser bars stay out of the way. The page asks the screen to stay awake. iPadOS can still sleep from Auto-Lock, so set that to Never if you leave it running. Open the rain card if you want another take. None of them add thunder. The slider is the level. Zero turns it off. Keys 1 through 9 toggle the nine layers, and the space bar plays or pauses. Nothing starts on a reload or from a shared link. Copy mix link keeps the level you settled on. Other mixes: brown noise, coffee shop sounds, ocean waves, and thunderstorm sounds. The full ambient mixer is where you build a scene from scratch.
FAQ
Does this page play thunder with the rain?
No. It opens on rain alone. Thunder is a separate layer, and it stays off until you raise it or open the thunderstorm page. The rain card lets you pick a lighter or heavier take. None of those takes include cracks.
Will rain sounds start when I open the link?
No. A shared link restores the level and waits. Press Play, or the space bar, before any file is fetched. A Home Screen icon behaves the same way. The first tap is what unlocks audio on iOS.
