Ambient Sound Mixer for Focus
An ambient sound mixer fills a spare screen with rain, café, fire, ocean and noise you mix yourself. Press Play, leave it on an iPad, and send the same mix as a link.
How to use
The page opens on Rainy café: rain at 55, café at 35, and a little brown noise. Nothing plays until you press Play or the space bar. That first tap starts the audio, which iOS requires. Drag a slider to set a level. Zero is off. Open a card to pick another take of that layer, or press 1 through 9 to toggle one. A scene chip replaces the whole mix. Stop after fades the session out over ten seconds. Copy mix link sends the same levels to another desk.
Set it up on an iPad or second screen
Put the iPad where you can see it and leave the laptop for the work. In Safari, Share, then Add to Home Screen, so this page opens like an app named Ambient Mixer. The screen asks to stay awake while the page is open. That is a request, not a guarantee: set Auto-Lock to Never under Settings, Display and Brightness. Guided Access can lock the iPad to this one page if other people are in the room. Fullscreen hides the browser bars. After a few seconds with no touch, the controls fade and the two loudest layers stay on screen. Move the pointer, or tap once, to bring the sliders back. Bluetooth headphones receive the mix if the system audio is routed there.

Each layer is a number from 0 to 100, stepping by 5. The address bar keeps only the values that differ from this page, so a rain-only mix is a short link. Master volume is the shared Volume slider, the same one other tools on this site use. There is no separate chime: this page is the sound. Theme, type, and dim follow you from the clock and the timer.

What the ambient sound mixer plays
Rain, café, fire, ocean, forest, thunder, stream, and wind are recordings from Pixabay, trimmed and crossfaded into loops. White, pink, and brown noise are generated live in the browser. The noise card also has one recorded fan hum. None of this is a treatment for sleep, attention, or tinnitus. A file downloads the first time its level goes above zero, then stays cached so the same mix can play offline. The loops only play inside the page. There is no button to save a sound on its own.

FAQ
Will the mix start on its own?
No. The page waits for Play or the space bar. A reload, a shared link, and a Home Screen icon all open in silence. The first tap is what starts the audio. After that, pause and play stay under your control, including from the lock screen where the browser offers media controls.
Can I leave it on a second screen?
Yes. That is the point of the layout. The sliders hide after you stop moving, the screen can stay awake, and the mix keeps playing if you switch to another tab. Come back and it is still going, unless the system interrupted the audio. In that case the page says tap to resume.
Where do the sounds come from?
White, pink, and brown noise are generated live in this browser. The noise card can also play a recorded fan. Rain, café, fire, ocean, forest, thunder, stream, and wind are Pixabay recordings, edited into loops. The sound credits on this page name each one and link the author. They are company for a desk, not medical audio, and they are not a download pack.
How do I send someone this mix?
Copy mix link, or the share button in the top bar. The address contains the levels that are not the defaults, plus a stop time if you set one. Opening that address on another browser shows the same sliders. They still have to press Play. Nothing starts by itself.
What does Stop after do?
It is a session length. Off means the mix plays until you pause it. 25, 50, and 90 set a countdown in minutes. When the time runs out, the master volume fades to silence over ten seconds and then the mix pauses. The chip on the control bar shows how long is left.
