End of workday countdown for a desk display

An end of workday countdown runs to 18:00 on the next weekday. Leave it on a spare screen so the room can see the day closing without checking a phone.

18:00, then the next weekday

Before 18:00 on a Monday to Friday, the target is 18:00 today. At 18:00 exactly, and after it, the target moves to 18:00 on the next weekday, so the screen does not sit on a finished message all evening. Saturday and Sunday point at Monday. A Friday after 18:00 points at the following Monday, including when that Monday is in the next month. The time is the zone on the page. A team that shares one link should set the office zone first, because Local follows whichever device opens it. This is a fixed 18:00, not a calendar of holidays, so a public holiday on a Tuesday still counts as a workday. The Friday 6 pm pick on the main page is different: that one always aims at Friday, even in the middle of the week. Use this page when the question is when today ends, and the timer when you need a meeting length instead of a clock time.

FAQ

What happens at exactly 18:00?

The target becomes 18:00 on the next weekday. The page is for the time still ahead, not for a message that stays up after the office has closed. If you want the finished message to hold, set a custom target on the main countdown and leave this preset.

Does it skip weekends?

Yes. Saturday and Sunday count toward Monday at 18:00. Friday after 18:00 does the same. It does not know public holidays, so a bank holiday on a weekday still looks like a workday. Change the target yourself if the office is closed.
