45 minute timer for a class period
A 45 minute timer is a class period you can read from the back of the room. Start it when the lesson starts, and let the spare screen hold the end.

A class period on the spare screen
Forty-five minutes is a class period, an exam section, or a block of deep work that should end when it ends. A clock on the wall tells you the time of day. It does not tell the room how much of the period is left. This page does. Start it when the activity starts, fullscreen it on the display the class can see, and let the digits do the announcing. An exam section works the same way: start when the paper starts, write until zero, and use overtime if you finish a last sentence and want to know how far you ran over. A focused work block uses the spare screen so the machine you are typing on does not also have to be the clock. The digits stay large for the whole period. You can still read them from the back row. Dim the panel if the room is dark, and turn sound off in a hall where a chime would be rude. The tab title still changes at the end. This page opens at forty-five minutes. Reset between activities so the next period starts clean, instead of pausing through a transition. If the slot is half an hour or a full hour, those pages are the neighbouring lengths, with the same layout.
FAQ
Can a whole class share a forty-five minute timer?
Yes. Fullscreen it on a display the room can see, and turn on Guided Access if the device is an iPad that students can reach. The label can name the lesson. Reset between periods so the next block starts at forty-five minutes instead of whatever was left.
How is this different from the hour page?
The length. Forty-five minutes is a class period or an exam section. An hour is a deeper block. The controls are the same. Pick the page that matches the length you would have typed, so you are not doing arithmetic before you start.
